One of the things on that ever-growing list, was to start a blog. I'm not a great writer (as you can probably tell), but the main purpose is to tell the story of my travels, and the stories of all the inspiring people I will almost certainly meet during my 3 1/2 months away! It's also a way of stopping billions of calls from loved ones wondering where I am and what I'm doing.. they can read all this!
What am I planning on doing on my Gap Adventure? A local charity in my home-town has been close to my heart since primary school, and having gone out to Honduras in 2012 on a mission trip, I wanted to return, but make my trip there even bigger and better! So this time, I am travelling to Guatemala first, as Street Kids Direct (the charity) also have projects out there. I'll learn Spanish, and then volunteer with a project called Mi Arca for a week. I then return to Honduras, the country that lies in my heart because of all the incredible people I met in 2012. I'll volunteer at the AFE school for 1 month, living with a host family during my stay. Central America, tick.
I then fly down to Rio De Janeiro, and begin a mega tour with a travel company. I shall join 12-15 other randomers and travel across South America. From Rio, to Lima, with love. Visiting many amazing places along the way, I'll take a month and half to see what there is to see! South America, tick!
3 1/2 months in a nutshell...see you in Guatemala! E

You will have an amazing, life-enhancing and quite possibly life-changing time, Em. Stay sensible and safe, give your love and natural kindness freely and it will come back to you many-fold.
